A Stroud man who authorities say was driving under the influence of alcohol ran his pickup and the 18-foot horse trailer it was towing into a retaining wall Saturday night on Eseco Road near Cushing, a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shows.
Two of the man’s sons, ages 9 and 11, were injured in the crash. The 9-year-old was airlifted from Cushing Hospital to a hospital in Tulsa where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury, the report shows.
The 11-year-old was taken to Cushing Hospital where he was treated and released for a head injury.
Randy Armstrong, 36, and his 5-year-old daughter were not injured in the wreck, the report shows.
None of the occupants of the pickup were wearing seat belts.
The OHP report didn’t state if Armstrong was cited for DUI, but the officers who filed the report concluded that it was the cause of the wreck.
